O’s Notes: Pianist and composer Alister Spence launched a solo effort, a studio recorded made late in 2019 and released Spring 2020. Whirlpool is a collection of 23 pieces on two discs. It is a spontaneous session that allows Spence to follow his imagination and explore the depths of his instrument. It is an interesting backdrop for reflection as the thoughts are varied and diffused and mostly unobtrusive.
