O’s Notes: Jazz vocalist Pamela Rose focuses on the sultry tunes from 13 singers from the early 1900s to the 1990s. We’ve heard many collections centered on love but this is a unique approach and Rose put a lot into it including a website www.WildWomenOfSong.com with detailed facts about the women represented on this disc! It is the cyber approach to liner notes and an added dimension to her performance. Pamela’s research helps her extract some of the emotional intent from the original artists. We particularly enjoyed her takes on “What A Difference A Day Made” and “Close Your Eyes”. This package is novel, educational and entertaining.
