O’s Notes: Drummer, percussionist Dylan Jack leads a quartet with Jerry Sabatini (t), Eric Hofbauer (g, electronics), and Tony Leva (b). They focus on themes of the season on Winter Panes. The exchange between Hofbauer and Sabatini on “New Africa” is a great primer for the set. The spirit is playful on “Las Mananitas”, “Skating”, and “Santa Claus Go Straight To The Ghetto”! We also enjoyed the Latin vibe on “Ocho Kandelikas” featuring Sabatini.
