O’s Notes: San Francisco based vocalist Lena Sunday wrote poems as an “escape from the noise” in a large family growing up. It was the beginning of her singing career that includes jazz, gospel and the American songbooks. She has worked with and wrote for many top jazz and R&B artists. She took a brief hiatus to raise her family and survived a fight with cancer to return to the music scene! Thrilling Bay area audiences for several years she now steps out with this release, a roots-based jazz album. She’s got talent, perseverance and a lot of heart. Stay tuned!
