O’s Notes: Shannon has a soft voice that is gentle. Yet she soars on “Wichita Lineman” driving the lyrics home with passion. “Walking After Midnight” is a cool duet with bassist Ross McIntyre. Most of these ten tunes a light feeling that broadens her audience but sounds more like pop than jazz. There’s nothing profound here but that’s not a bad thing. Butcher gets the job done, especially on “Strange And Beautiful”. We also liked “Call Me”, a soft ballad and “Don’t Talk”, a swinger featuring Kelly Jefferson on tenor sax.
