O’s Notes: Bettye is a true blues storyteller, a veteran singer with years of pleasing audiences. She has a rather coarse voice but great pitch and a good sense of pace that is well integrated with the band. The core musicians are Jay Bellrose (d), Doyle Bramhall II (g, b) and Patrick Warren (b, g). Bettye has aged like a fine wine taking on a different but appreciable palate. She is Worthy.
