O’s Notes: These guys pull us back to the glorious sounds of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Evan Price (v), Paul Mehling (lead g), Jeff Magidsonson & Jason Vanderford (rhythm g) and Ari Munkres (b) capture the Gypsy, bluegrass feeling that was a large part of the French glitz in the 1930s. Seth Asarno joins in with his bandoneon on “I’m Happy Just To Dance With You” and David Grisman plays mandolin on “Sway”. There are seventeen songs in all, plenty to keep your spirits up. This is a fine take on Gypsy Jazz and a fine addition to any collection.
