O’s Notes: Laiti is from Finland and making a run at the big time jazz scene in New York. She employs an excellent band including Houston Person on sax. The program is a dozen well-chosen standards. Sofia’s voice belies her petite stature and amiable personality. It has a deep, throaty character that brings a unique element to each song. This is one that you’ll either like or not.
