O’s Notes: Happy Apple is a trio consisting of Erik Fratzke (b), Michael Lewis (sax) and David King (d). They play abstract fusion that reaches into their dreams. With song titles like “Green Grass Stains on Wrangler Jeans” and “The treetops of a bad neighborhood”, you get a hint of their direction. The results are fresh and different, not congested and a very creative cool sound.
