O’s Notes: The architect of Tokyo Calling is Hisa Ishioka. His King Street Records has served to transplant club music between Tokyo and New York for more than ten years! The pulsing beat of “Desire” put us in the club mood immediately. These dozen tracks surface many of the hottest R&B, house, artists on the scene today. The music is New York club music with airy vocal tracks minus the techno babble found in too many clubs today. If you want to dance, this is the ticket! It also worked well for our morning workouts.
