O’s Notes: This is slow, soothing funk and it feels good. Nils plays trombone and leads his band, ‘The Funk Unit” through a collection of eleven tracks recorded around the world during 1998-99. He infused guest appearances from some world class players including Fred Wesley (tb), Tim Hagans (t) and Roy Hargrove (t). The best tracks are the funkiest: “Da Fonk” and “Stop By” with the cool vocals.
