O’s Notes: Jeff takes a different approach with Blues For You, a collection of rocking guitar blues. He opens with “Shuffleboard” with Kenny White on the B3 and wraps with the scintillating “I’ll Play The Blues For You”. Peter Wolf sings on “Rooster Blues”; John Waite picks it up on “Lost Mind”; and Marc Cohn takes the mic on “I Don’t Worry About A Thing”. Jeff leads the action backed by strong brass on “Nikki’s Walk”. We also enjoyed the relaxed pace of “Gone Fishin'” and “Goin On” featuring Kirk Whalum with soulful sax. We applaud Golub for doing something different and doing it well. Don’t bother setting up the chicken wire around the stage; we won’t be throwing bottles, just enjoying the performance!
