O’s Notes: Veteran contemporary jazz guitarist Paul Brown’s latest release is smooth jazz heaven. He collaborates with his core band and several guest stars bringing new music to the contemporary jazz scene. The variety in songs and musicians make this a cut above the masses. Paul changes the tempo and mood moving from upbeat dance tracks to mellow tunes and some blues. Wendy Moten joins Paul singing on “Love N Trust”; Najee adds flute on Casablanca; Richard Elliot, Euge Groove and Dave Koz play sax on “Home Sweet Home”, “Stay Sly” and “Avalon Nights” respectively; and Larry Carlton joins Brown on guitar for “Purple Shoes”.
