O’s Notes: Ghetto Princess is a tribute to the late soul jazz pianist Gene Harris. Gene played in a trio called The Three Sounds for 15 years. 3 More Sounds is a trio with pianist Robert Turner, bassist Henry Franklin and drummer Khoran Harrison. Carl Bunnett plays drums on three tracks. Turner idolized Harris and you can hear that bluesy, gospel style loud and clear on this performance of nine classic jazz tunes. “Willow Weep For Me”, “I Thought About You” and “Things Ain’t What They Used To Be” are standouts.
