O’s Notes: Saxophonist Dave Pietro is a University of North Texas alumnus who has continued to expand his horizons composing, teaching and performing. He assembles a fine band for Hypersphere that includes Alex Sipiagin (t), Gary Versace (keyboards), Johannes Weidenmueller (b), Rogerio Boccato (perc) and Johnathan Blake (d). The music is all original, mixed tempo, modern jazz. Dave leads the horns, bathing us in the splendor of the title track. Other highlights are “Incandescent”, “Quantum Entanglement” and “Orbison” featuring Ryan Keberle (tb).
