O’s Notes: Pianist and composer Judson Green works in a quintet under the direction of Daniel Jordan (woodwinds) with Ron Jenkins (b), Fitzroy Harris (perc) and Walt Hubbard (d). Green composed 15 new songs for Discover but they all have a sense of familiarity with catchy hooks and an uncluttered groove. Jenkins and Jordan lead the charge on the radio friendly “Cool Strut”, the first in a string of cool selections. Other standouts are “Mr. Potato Head”, “Lacondona” and “Super Agent Super Spy”. Green is no stranger to success as a former Disney executive and successful operator and philanthropist. Returning to his childhood passion, Judson is delighting a wide audience!
