O’s Notes: Vibraphonist Matt Moran leads the charge in a trio with Gary Versace (B3) and Tom Rainey (d). They open with the warm flow of “Ripples” and get a bit eclectic on “Spring” and “Chord Conversion” while maintaining an open landscape that allows a focus on each of the musicians at all points. There are seven songs spread across 36 minutes. Some of the songs are rather edgy especially “Sometimes That’s Ok” but the program grew on us especially “Effish”.
