O’s Notes: Back in 2013 we called Elder Djangirov the best pianist you never heard of! Now 33, he’s been raising eyebrows since appearing on Marion McPartland’s Piano Jazz at 12! With over ten albums under his belt, Eldar’s still evolving but is easily appreciated in this trio format with Raviv Markovitz (b) and Jimmy Macbride (d). He performs 7 originals and 4 covers, notably “Willow Weep For Me”. Other highlights are “Burn” and “Blackjack”.
