O’s Notes: Tenor saxophonist Nicole Glover continues to assert herself as leader and traditional bebop soloist. She presents of program of classics and originals including a couple of collaborations with bassist Daniel Duke for Strange Lands. They open up swinging the title track with a fine bass solo from Duke. Next up is “Hive Queen”, the first of four selections featuring George Cables on piano, three as a quartet and a warm duo with Glover on “A Flower Is A Lonesome Thing”. Drummer Nic Cacioppo stretches out on “Parks”, one of his two originals.
