O’s Notes: Trumpeter, composer, arranger and producer Kerry Moffit is the catalyst for Turning Circles, a brassy ensemble with Seth Ebersol (sax), Rob Killips (tb) and Altin Sencalar (tb). The core is a sold with bassist Terry Newman, Ian LeVine on drums and keyboards by Arlene Pritchard McDaniel or Luther Allison. The horns provide accents for punch and rhythmic harmony for a warm feel over eight selections including four Moffit originals. The use of the fender Rhodes adds a really cool vibe on “M.L.” and on the peaceful closer, “But Beautiful”.
