O’s Notes: Unalone is a fine album from well-respected bassist Buster Williams, a musician’s bassist, and the catalyst for his band over eight gems. You’ll be intoxicated by the romantic vocals from vocalist Jean Baylor on “Estate” and “In The Middle of A Rainbow”, shadowed by the warm sax of Bruce Williams and fine work of Stephan Harris on vibes. Baylor is also the centerpiece in a trio with Williams and pianist George Colligan on “Here’s To Life”. Harris lets the vibes ring true on “Tayamisha” and “I’ve Got The World On A String” while drummer Lenny White puts the sizzle into “42nd Street”. The is a world class ensemble making great music!
