O’s Notes: Vocalist Mark Winkler has a laid back, relaxed style that is easily approachable. He invites a large cast of musicians to work with him including polished veterans like Bob Sheppard (sax, cl), Grant Geissman (g), Kevin Winard (perc), and John Beasley (p). He also works with young lions like Danny Janklow (sax, fl) and Errol Rhoden (tuba)! He plays in five different configurations from a trio to big band. We liked “Sunday In LA”, “In Love In New York”, and “Here’s To Jazz”. Mark stretches out with varied approaches and The Rules Don’t Apply.
