O’s Notes: Guitarist Royce Campbell fronts the Vosbein McGee Big Band with director Terry Vosbein and trumpeter Chris Magee on Vagabond. The songs were written by Campbell early in his career and arranged by his uncle, Caroll DeCamp. They were unearthed for Vagabond and recorded at a live session in Lexington, VA at the Lenfest Center on September 28, 2024! “Gentle Breeze”, “Mambo Puente”, the title track, and a relaxed cover of “Body and Soul” are highlights with Campbell spilling buttery solos throughout the set along with Bill Schnepper (a-sax, s-sax, fl).
