O’s Notes: The name of the band is a strong indicator of what you hear. Instrumentation includes early 1900s instrumentation with Conal Fowkes (p, vocals), Simon Wettenhall (t, vocals), Harvey Tibbs (tb), Tom Abbott (cl), Josh Dunn (g, banjo), Brian Nalepka (b, vocals), and Kevin Dom (d). They open with a traditional funeral song “Flee As A Bird / Oh Didn’t He Ramble” before swinging in the Crescent City style led by Wettenhall and Tibbs on “When Leave This World Behind”. This is a fun outing!
