O’s Notes: Joe is a polished jazz trumpeter and composer with over 5 decades of experience! His latest release, Decidedly So is an energetic encounter with a snappy rhythm section including Jeremy Manasia (p), Clovis Nicholas (b), and Rodney Green (d). They start off cooking with “D.J.”, one of four Magnarelli originals. Trombonist Steve Davis and Magnarelli breathe warm harmonies into “10th Anniversary” before the rich classic “When I Fall In Love”. They end the set going around the horn on “Jimmy’s Blues”, featuring the rhythm section.
