O’s Notes: Trumpeter and vocalist Bria Skonberg focuses most of her attention on Brass for this release in a band with Luther Allison (p, B3), Eric Wheeler (b), and Darrian Douglas (d perc). Kellin Hanas plays trumpet on “Brotherhood of Man”. The program has a variety of styles making this a fresh set with plentiful solos around the band. We enjoyed the warmth of “Somewhere Out There”, the calypso beats of “Markham Sunrise”, “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”, and “So It Goes”.
