O’s Notes: Gentle, soothing and heart felt music led by Chuck’s silky smooth flugelhorn and muted trumpet. The rest of the band members are at the top of their games as well. The songs range from a nice arrangement of “Amazing Grace” to several new selections written by Mangione like the seductive “Viola”. Well blended tones signify another excellent Chesky recording.
