O’s Notes: Kasper is among the exciting young pianists developing his voice on the jazz scene. He is Danish and studied at the Royal Music Conservatory but he drifts far from what one may expect from that institution. They play neobop/fusion with a lot of energy. Lars M¿ller (ts) Jesper Bodilsen (b) and Morten Lund (d) keep up the pace with Kasper. And Kasper has some dazzling moves on piano. They play a combination of originals and standards that will keep you engaged. M¿ller’s work on burners – “Quartet #2” and ballads – “I Wish I Knew” and “My Man’s Gone Now” is notable. We hope to here more from this quartet.
