O’s Notes: Nestor combines the refreshing sounds of his flute with Latin beats, pop and spirituality. As indicated in the title, the song selection includes an array of relaxing approaches at varied tempos. He infuses club beats with Spanish guitar on “Peace Within Myself”, an unusual twist that works well. Ed Calle adds sax on “Creole Dream”, one that should break into the top 10 of Smooth Jazz charts. Torres received a Latin Grammy on 9/11/01, a mixed blessing that reshaped his life. He visited New York and began a series of concerts and meditation in various churches. This entire session is a reflection of that time. It is a creative and courageous approach that merits attention.
