O’s Notes: Nick Grondin is an accomplished guitarist, composer and bandleader in the US and Europe.“A View of Earth“is his latest endeavor including 1st call musicians Jon Cowherd (p) and Michael Reis (p). We liked ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For‘ featuring Nick’s vocals shadowed by Tucker Antell (sax). Aubrey Johnson adds melodic voicing notably on ‘Softline‘, dancing around Antell’s soprano sax and including a warm guitar solo from Grondin. We also dug the funky beats on ‘Frenchman St. Funk‘, and ‘Little Wing‘.
