O’s Notes: Jazz keyboardist Bob Baldwin adds his funky groove to yet another songbook as he Presents Abbey Road and the Beatles. While Baldwin’s typical R&B and keyboard-based instrumentals are in stark contrast to the traditional Beatles pop/rock, his interpretations result in great music attesting to The Beatles great songbooks and great musicians. Tony Lewis (d) and Dave Anderson (b) join Baldwin’s rhythm section with Euge Groove (sax) adding soul on “Imagine”. Guest vocalists CeCe Peniston (“The Fool on The Hill”) and Lori Williams (“My Love” & “Abbey Road”) add variety to the mix. The Beatles would be proud of this extension of their legacy.
