O’s Notes: Dirk Richter (vibes & keyboards) and Randall Crissman (g, b) are the creative genius behind Vibes Alive. They wrote, arranged and produced these eleven funky contemporary instrumentals. They enlist the support of some polished pros namely Jeff Lorber (Wurlitzer, piano), Luis Conte (perc), Vinnie Colaiuta (d) and Gary Meek (sax). The soothing title track is among the best. Other highlights are “Lunch Truck”, “Sambahia”, “Walk Away” and the swinging “Blew Blues”.
