O’s Notes: Drummer Shawn Glyde took an interesting approach with Alternate Rhythm. He started by developing the drum tracks, then adding the rhythms and melody. Although our ears are accustomed to the drums feeling the rhythm & melody and responding, this approach seemed to work out well. The beats are solid and the groove is an electronic, funky jazz. We liked “Tony’s Temple” and “Disposable Art” best.
