O’s Notes: Drummer Rick Latham has assembled a fine cast: Mack Dougherty (g), Vail Johnson (b), Bob Luna (b), Ken Tussing (tb) and Albert Wing (sax, fl). They play a dozen contemporary jazz tracks, mainly funky R&B and a couple of vocals featuring Lonnie Jordan, Robin Francis and Renee Geyer. But there is also “I’m Looped” with it’s acid club beats and the cool “Slinky”. Overall this is a balanced effort with several potent tracks.
