O’s Notes: Drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr. presents his Generation Y on his second release Around The World With U. The quintet includes Erena Terabuko (a-sax), Anthony Harvey (t), Tyler Bullock (p), and Yasushi Nakamura (b). The program includes some older hard bop, some obscure tunes, and some fresh, original modern jazz. Guest Nanami Harutra (tb) joins the band for two selections, notably “Road Life”. Other highlights are “Espresso”, “Mo Better Blues”, “The Light That Grew Amongst Us” featuring Terabuko, and “Stardust” showcasing Hervey.
