O’s Notes: Singer Nancy Kelly has a strong affinity for the B3 from the early days of her career as the house singer at Jewels on Broad Street in Philly. That band included a Hammond player and while she drifted away from that theme for a period, Nancy revisits the B3 groove on B That Way. Her band is Dino Losito (B3), Peter Bernstein (g), Jerry Weldon (sax) and Carmen Intorre (d). They do a fine job recreating that classic club feel while Nancy remembers what it was like. The program has twelve classics that will resonate with lovers of that old Philly sound.
