O’s Notes: Trumpeter Randy Brecker goes retro to revisit classic funky jazz-fusion on The Brecker Brothers Band Reunion. The band is fully intact with members from various iterations of the band coming together. Ada Rovatti, Randy’s wife replaces the late saxophonist Michael Brecker. Randy is on his game feathering crisp catchy melodies. The electronic keyboards and Wah-Wah pedals bring the 1970s vibe into the new millennium. The second disc is a live DVD that packs spontaneity along with the aforementioned funk in long playing tunes that are a delight.
