O’s Notes: Frank opens the set with “Bang!” and indeed it was explosive with a mid tempo funky rhythm. That is just the beginning of a cool session marked by the passionate raspy sax melodies of Catalano. You will be challenged to remain still amidst the engaging rhythms. Most of the tunes are upbeat but they also play a couple of ballads: “My One and Only Love” and “Night Moves” featuring Frank on alto flute. This is a top-notch performance.
