O’s Notes: Jean-Michel Basquiat was a fatal victim of heroin in 1988 at the age of 27, a scene too familiar among artists. He was an exceptionally creative modern painter. Among the inspirations for his graphic genius was jazz. These 12 tunes could be found in his collection. The songs really cook including with Miles playing “I’ll Remember April” and Dizzy who plays a live version of “Salt Peanuts” and a sizzling version of “Bebop” with Joe Pass (g)!
