O’s Notes: Tenor sax man Tom Scott seemingly never ages. On Bebop United, he brings some veterans and some rising young musicians together including Randy Brecker (t), Phil Woods (as)’ Gil Goldstein (p) and Jay Ashby (tb). The program includes a few of Tom’s best and some newly arranged standards as well. “Silhouettes” featuring Woods, the swinging “Tones For Jones Bones” and the romantic “His Eye, Her Eyes” with rich brass harmonies are just a few of the gems.
