O’s Notes: Albert Dadon AM aka Albare is more than the usual jazz guitarist. He is a Moroccan businessman, philanthropist and musician who also owns a jazz venue in Melbourne, Australia where he hosts The Bird’s Basement Show interviewing many artists. We could go on but the focus here is his 15th album, Beyond Belief. He assembles a quartet with Phil Turico (p), Phil Rex (b) and Pablo Bencid (d). Most of the songs are originals penned by Albare and Turico. We liked “No Regrets“, “Missing In Action”, “I Believe“ featuring vocalist Lionel Cole, and the peaceful sounds as on “Feeling Moody” with Albare adding vocals.
