O’s Notes: Pianist, composer, arranger and producer Jordan Seigel assembles a fine group of musicians to perform on his debut recording, Beyond Images. It is a blend of cinema and jazz inspired by many great film composers. They open with tranquility on “Departure”, setting the stage for a session that is both peaceful and vibrant. Seigel incorporates The Vertigo String Quartet on five selections notably “The Woods” and “The Baker Street Caper”. We also enjoyed “Monkey In The Wilderness” in a session that got better song after song!
