O’s Notes: Radam places his B3 center stage and leads the charge with ten jazzy blues numbers. They are all instrumental save “Pay Up” featuring vocals from Kice. Otherwise the emotions come from the brass: Bill Saxton (ts) and Bruce Williams (as), guitarist Eric Johnson and timekeeper Cecil Brooks III. Schwartz wrote half of the tunes including “Grieve But Be Brief”, one of the most soulful morning tunes we’ve heard in a while. There’s a cool cover or “Misty” and they swing on “Hangin’ With Smooth”. This is an energetic, emotionally satisfying session!
