O’s Notes: This is a live recording made on The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise during January 2010. Walker focused on the blues side of this equation and he us truly a master! A strong cast of musicians including guitarists Duke Robillard, Johnny Winter and Tommy Castro joins him. Joe gets a little help with the vocals from Curtis Salgado & Mike Finnigan (B3) on “You’re Gonna Make Me Cry”. We liked the hard driving groove of “Eyes Like A Cat” featuring Tom Poole (t) and Deanna Bogart (sax). They never let up and kept us ready to shake a leg all the way through. Walker is generous with the musicians allowing each of them to shine alongside him making this a very entertaining and spirited performance.
