O’s Notes: Saxophonist Ernie Krivda plays with a high level of intensity yet remains melodic and passionate with his solos. He is backed by The Detroit Connection: Clause Black (p), Marion Hayden (b) and Renell Fonsalves (d). Guests Sean Jones and Dominick Farinacci add trumpet on two songs each. The brass is crisp all the way through and Krivda breathes passion into ballads like “More Than You Know”. The program is a dedication to the late Harvey Pekar, one of the toughest jazz critics in the business. We are certain that Harvey would give this one two thumbs up!
