O’s Notes: Pianist David Maxwell puts together a collection of blues music with influences from the many countries he’s traveled to. You will hear themes from Africa, the Mid East, India and the USA. Harry Manx (Mohan Vine, g) and Jerry Leake (perc) provide much of the international flavor in the music. Maxwell wrote all thirteen instrumental compositions. Among the best are “Movin’ On”, and “Cryin’ The Blues”, both with a zydeco feel. We also enjoyed the traditional feel of “Just The Blues”.
