O’s Notes: Euge Groove cut his teeth with the legendary Tower of Power in the later 1980s when he was known as Steve Grove. He morphed into Euge Groove at the turn of the millennium and has been leading his own band ever since. Born 2 Groove is more than a funky title track. It is a continuation of Groove’s wailing sax on top of funky beats. This formula has been exciting smooth jazz fans, especially in live appearances. “Geez Spot” is a sure hit along with the title track. The vocal tracks “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” and “Baby If You Only Knew” are soulfully sweet courtesy of Ali Olli Woodson and Jeff Osborne respectively. Groove has another winner!
