O’s Notes: Audio Cultures is a contemporary jazz quartet featuring writers/producers Clyde Childress (g) and Albert Hobson (b, drum programming). Joel Behrman (t, tb) and William Beatty (keyboards) round out the band. They open with the cool funky groove of “Unexpected Mingling” followed by the strong club beat of “Is It Enough”. “Clouded Memories” and “The Method” are mid-tempo tunes featuring Childress on guitar. They add a couple of Beatles covers notably “Michelle” and put a rock bent on “Heavy Traffic”. There is a little bit for everyone here though we preferred the first half of the session.
