O’s Notes: Samba by definition is a relaxing form of jazz. There are eleven songs here, many penned by Antonio Carlos Jobim including “The Girl From Ipanema” and “Aquas de Marco” performed by John Pizzarelli, Paquito D’Rivera’s “Corcovado” and “Wave” led by Gerry Mulligan. There are also two beautiful original vocals by Rosa Passos notably “Detalhe”. This is one of the best in the series!
