O’s Notes: Pianist Baptiste Trotignon leads a jazz trio featuring bassist Matt Penman and Greg Hutchinson on drums. Brexit Music is an excellent collection of jazzy, British, pop tunes. They grab our heart from the opener “Drive My Car” and add twelve more without missing a beat. Trotignon excels on “Money”, “Message In A Bottle”, and several others. We liked the bouncy groove of “Mother’s Little Helper” with fine solos from Penman and the leader bringing The Beatles, David Bowie, The Police, and Pink Floyd into jazz space.
